Back in 2012, I came across a You-tuber talking about "The Curly Girl Method". The Curly Girl Method was invented By Lorraine Massey, author of "Curly Girl the Handbook. The Curly Girl Method is a hair regimen that uses sulfate-free cleansers, botanical conditioner or conditioner on your natural hair. No more heating tools like flat irons, hot combs, blower dyers (unless its a blow dryer with a diffuser) etc. Instead of shampooing your hair you would Co-wash your hair (using conditioner) and you will style your hair with Silicone free & Sulfate free products.  This method is a good way to refresh your hair in the wash & go style until your ready to cleanse your hair.

**Remember not to just use co-wash only as a cleansing source because you still need to use shampoo to cleanse your scalp.  Over time if you don’t cleanse your scalp it will cause scalp issues down the line.

Steps to washing hair using The Curly Girl Method:
  1. Co-Washing Stand in the shower and allow the water to run through hair. Cup one hand, apply conditioner along your fingertips and distribute to the fingertips of your other hand. Starting at the temples, place your fingertips on your scalp and use a firm, circular massaging motion to rub gently cleansing the scalp to remove dirt & oil from scalp. Rinse hair throughly.
  2. Conditioning Take a generous amount of conditioner and apply it throughout hair make sure to cover the whole head no curl left behind. Let the conditioner soak into your curls. Gently finger comb through your hair removing knots and tangles. DO NOT RINSE out conditioner, splash a handful or two of water on the surface of the hair. Turn off water, but stay in the shower. Tilt your head to one side and use your hands to squeeze-quench your hair towards the scalp so a milky residue seeps through your fingers.
  3. Styling Style how ever you choose. But If you're going to wear a wash & go style follow these steps. Take a generous amount of gel and rub it into both hands. Tilt head and evenly distribute the gel into hair as you scrunch-squeeze hair gently up towards scalp. Repeat until all areas of hair has product on it.
  4. Drying It's best to let your hair air dry, because curls are fragile and heat can sometimes evaporate the gel. But if you don't have time, you can dry hair with a diffuser or hood dryer.
Now for the products thats Silicone & Sulfate fee, you could choose one products from each list to help you with building your hair regimen.
