One of the important elements of a solid foundation to a good hair regimen is a good deep conditioner. Deep conditioner also known as a Hair Mask or Conditioning pack, is a chemical mixture of concentrated protein and intensive moisture used to restore moisture &/or protein back into the hair.

You should be deep conditioning every week or bi-weekly using a conditioning cap, hooded dryer or steamer to help the treatment penetrate the hair strand better. Colored treated naturals should have added a protein conditioner in their regimen to help restore the protein bonds back into the hair from color treatment.

There are many of deep conditioning and protein treatments out on the market for you to choose from. I always recommend using water-based products when choosing any hair care products for your natural hair. Also knowing what you need or want the particular product to do for your hair when choosing a conditioner.  Are you looking for a hydrating, moisturizing, repair, and protein just to name a few examples of different treatments out there.
